Tile FAQ

The popularity of tile in homes has created a new problem, hollow tiles. Sometimes called drummy or loose tiles they all share the same problem. They make a hollow drum like sound when walked upon. This is caused by air voids. Air voids are low spots in the thin-set mortar under the tile.  [Insert hollow tile.wav]   EasyFix fills the voids.

What is a hollow loose or drummy tile?

How much product do I need?

We have done the math for you. First determine the size of the problem. Count the number of hollow tiles. ( A 12” x 12” inch tile needs 4 oz. of adhesive.) Once you know how many tiles simply approximate how many squares it would be and times the result by 4. Example: 4 tiles = 4 square feet =4 x 4 = 16 oz.

Do I need DIY experience?

No, in fact many of our clients have no experience at all. Everything comes in the kit . So you only need a cordless electric drill.

Can I drill between the grout lines?

Yes, but we do not recommend doing it because you may chip the outside edge of your tile. It may also require more adhesive in order for it to migrate to the area affected. Get my kit.
